New Plan
I recently had a conversation with one of my followers on Medium about Dungeons and Dragons, and blogs and whatnot. I realized that I might have been going about things a bit wrong. My point was that the style of D&D blogs in the early internet is drastically different from it is now. Here's what I said:
I chose Medium because there will be eyes on my stuff, but there is a trade-off to doing so. I do still have my microblog at Bear as a place for me to try some of that discussion-y type stuff. Despite this, there's still that urge to save my thoughts for a formal Medium article, so the microblog can go neglected. Regardless, the internet of yore only exists when we take the path less traveled.
I realized after writing this: What's stopping me? Writing those more formal Medium articles is something I enjoy, but I also think that the more discussion-based writing shouldn't fall to the wayside. While I do wish to save my ideas for those formal articles, I don't really have a reason not to just discuss things here.
So I will take the road less traveled. I'm going to write more food-for-thought and discussion-based posts on a regular. While yes, we can only do so much to bring back "the internet of yore," we still ought to try.
That's my point for today. I hope you enjoy the new plan, and maybe we'll see one another around the K&K Alehouse.
