On Microblogging
I think it's fitting that the first post of the microblog be about microblogging.
Microblogging is such a great idea. It's always bothered me how transient social media can be, especially as an observer. I've browsed many a Reddit thread about D&D and the OSR, and there are tons of great ideas that I've just forgotten, and will likely never see again. Having all of my stuff in one unassailable location, where everyone can find it, is just fantastic.
I also really like Bear, and the way it handles the whole process. Everything is just so streamlined, and straightforward. On Medium, I feel like everything needs to be buttoned up, and using all sorts of tricks to ensure people will read the things I post. Here, I feel like I can just talk about D&D, The OSR and stuff in general. It's really great, and Herman has done a wonderful job.
That's it! It's really freeing to be able to post something that's just... myself... talking... I'm quite looking forward to the future, and I think that it's a bright one.
